On behalf of the students’ fraternity, I am exceedingly honored to welcome you to Lira University. We have in place a fully fledged guild government constituted by the Guild representative council (GRC) and the executives headed by the Guild president. We have Guild speaker, vice Guild president among other executives; this guild government is democratically elected. The guild office is active from Monday to Sunday for both week day and weekend students from 8: 00 am -5: 00 pm.
As students leaders at the university we are dedicated towards serving students interest to attain knowledge and skills to achieve academic excellence in the various disciplines offered.
Furthermore with the support from the university administration the students guild have the task of transforming students by offering a number of co-curriculum activities like sports & culture, leadership and spiritual development aimed at identifying and developing potential talents among students to serve the nation. Lira university is affiliated to Lango inter guild universities and tertiary institutions games and sports association (LUTIGSA) where we participate in games & sports, leadership training, health awareness and cultural activities aimed at creating solidarity among the guild leaders and the students in the various institutions and universities within lango sub region and beyond, we also have LASA joint registered with guild gov’t among other clubs at the university.
The hope of a secure livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to civilization, justice, peace and brotherhood.
Driven by thirst for knowledge and motivation to make a difference, I look forward to a great future for Lira university- a future in which our country will match its civilization strength with our moral restraint, its wealth with our wisdom, its power with our purpose.
Finally to the first year students who are joining campus on the 10th August 2018 for academic year 2017/2018. I wish you all peaceful stay at Lira University.
