Information Literacy training

Information Literacy Training

To be information literate means that you know how to find the right information
and what to do with it.
Staff, new and continuing student need all the help and support they can get. Our Library offers Information skilling sessions. These sessions equip users with skills to effectively navigate library information resources both print and electronic.
Our trainings focus on information retrieval systems, information evaluation, use and management or storage for reuse.
Reference management techniques training using different reference management tools is offered for our users both staff and students.
Guidance on Copyright issues around information use is one of our areas of training with focus on anti-plagiarism techniques of research writing. Plagiarism is a serious offence, as is Copyright violation. Copyright is a form of Intellectual Property aimed at preventing unauthorized persons from copying certain types of works. Plagiarism is using someone else’s written ideas without giving proper credit for them – a failure to cite adequately
